We are currently accepting qualified applications for Project Managers to support one of our Government clients in Hauppauge, NY.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for creating and managing a comprehensive Master Project Management Plan with subordinate Risk Management Plan, Human Resources Plan, Communications Plan and Quality Plan for each project.
  • Accountable for achieving approved schedule and budget and works with sponsors and stakeholders on any changes (scope changes).
  • Accountable for ensuring quality and timely delivery for all project deliverables.
  • Continually identify, prioritize and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Maintain strategic alignment of deliverables and reviewing with management decision makers.
  • Identify and govern change and process management considerations critical to the success of the project.
  • Perform project team management, driving motivation, collaboration and performance.
  • Provide an environment conducive to mentoring, coaching and training.
  • Define and drive "rightsized" project management processes, leveraging the Suffolk County standards and best practice SDLC Project Methodology.
  • Track short-term project metrics such as schedule variances and user satisfaction to drive improvement.
  • Develop detailed use cases to support user acceptance testing.
  • The Project Team shall be comprised of representatives from the key stakeholder departments in addition to the vendors, and Technical resources assigned from the Information Technology Department.
  • Vendor should be aware that Suffolk County may search government databases (PPIRS and/or FAPIIS) for information regarding vendors past performance with other government agencies. Suffolk County may also submit a performance review of the awarded vendor after the project has been completed, if they wish to do so.
 
Project Descriptions
The two (2) project management candidates will be responsible for providing project management services for the four (4) projects listed in this section. It is anticipated that a Suffolk County project manager will be assigned on a part-time basis to support the selected candidates.
 
Environmental Management System – Accela
  • This project involves the implementation of the Accela License and Case Management system to support the County’s Division of Environmental Quality operations.
  • The project is a twelve (12) month project that includes the implementation of License and Case Management, GIS, Mobile, Citizen Access and Document Services.
  • A third-party systems integrator, VIP (www.trustvip.com), is implementing the system using an agile methodology involving multiple sprints.
  • A scope of work from the vendor is available and will be presented to the selected candidate when the engagement begins.
Court Case Management System – Equivant
  • This project involves the implementation of the equivant JWorks Court Case Management system to support the County’s Traffic and Parking Violation Agency.
  • The project is a twelve (12) month project that includes the implementation of Case Management, Reporting Module, Showcase Document Management System, eServices, and JWorks Integrator. equivant is implementing the system using a traditional waterfall methodology.
  • A scope of work from the vendor is available and will be presented to the selected candidate when the engagement begins.
 
Shared Services Portal – Clarity
  • This project involves the implementation of a virtual marketplace for shared services using the clarify e-commerce solution to support the New York State Shared Services Incentive Program (put into law by Governor Cuomo).
  • The project is a nine (9) month project that includes the implementation of an e-commerce virtual marketplace.
  • An awarded third-party systems integrator, Veratics (http://veratics.com/) using an agile methodology involving multiple sprints.
  • A scope of from the vendor is available and will be presented to the selected candidate when the engagement begins.
 
Citizen Relationship Management (Crm) System – Vendor TBD
  • This project involves the implementation of a public sector customer/citizen relationship management (CRM) technology platform.
  • The project is a four (4) month project that includes the implementation of approximately one hundred (100) service request types to support two (2) large agencies within the County; the Department of Public Works and the Department of Social Services.
  • It is expected that a third-party systems integrator will be providing the implementation services using an agile methodology.
  • A scope of from the vendor is available and will be presented to the selected candidate when the engagement begins.
 
Qualifications:
  • Personnel proposed must include two (2) project management professional with a minimum of 7 years of experience working with enterprise application implementations. 
  • Personnel should have experience in agile development methodologies including Scrum.
  • Personnel are expected to be dedicated to this effort and work on site for the duration of the performance period.
