We are currently accepting qualified applications for a LABORATORY MANAGER to support one of our Government Clients at Bethesda, Maryland.
 
Job Summary:
 
The contractor shall provide expertise to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by providing professional expertise in microbiology molecular biology, biochemistry, infectious diseases, immunology, and bioinformatics; and cutting-edge vaccine research to improve understanding of immune responses and to identify new vaccine targets for HIV/AIDS, malaria, influenza, Ebola, Zika, and other pathogens and diseases. 

Duties and Responsibilities
Typical tasks that are assigned include:
  • Prepares and maintains documentation of test results.
  • Plans, leads, and organizes all activities related to laboratory function
  • Oversees the financial management and has accountability for monitoring the operating budget
  • Assists with the development of laboratory policies and procedures
  • Assists with hiring of staff.
  • Adjusts the workload of staff to meet deadlines
  • Records and analyzes data
  • Projects personnel and equipment needs
  • Provides technical expertise
  • Performs laboratory experiments following research protocols.
  • Trains staff in performing advanced laboratory tests/procedures
  • Develops and maintains appropriate control and quality assurance procedures
  • Primary job location is Bethesda, MD-Travel may be required 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree (Bachelor’s degree in a related field + 2 years of related experience may convey)
  • Two (2) years of experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Expertise in performing biological research.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in managing and disposing of hazardous waste
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
