We are currently accepting qualified applications for a Administrator of Home Health to support one of our national Home Health clients in beautiful Lombard, IL.
Job Summary
The Administrator of Home Health in directing and supervising the multi-disciplinary services provided by Agency. The Administrator of Home Health is responsible for strict adherence to the minimum standards for clinical/clerical related services. The Director of Home Health is responsible for ensuring Home Health Standards are being met.

  • Broad-based knowledge of  home health nursing and competent clinical skills
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance
  • Adequate means of transportation
  • Computer, internet access and email capabilities from home or other off-site location
  • Required, a RN graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
  • Required, currently registered in the state of practice 
Training and Experience
  • Required, has five (5) years of supervisory and/or administrative experience
  • Required, has three (3) years of providing direct patient care in the home setting
  • Required, seven (7) years’ experience as a registered nurse
  • Preferred, working knowledge of Medicare eligibility requirements
  • Preferred, experience of training employees
Essential Functions (to include but are not limited to)
  • Promote and coordinate interdisciplinary activities to ensure that the needs of patients, staff and physicians are met in accordance with established standards for all offices.
  • Supervise daily clinical functions that occur within the agency
  • Provide immediate support of incoming referrals or patient related telephone calls in the absence of assigned associate
  • Obtain daily report from field staff performing Oasis visits to ensure that our client’s programs are being utilized efficiently to meet individual patient needs, coordinate with physician for verbal order to implement POC, and scheduler so that ordered services are provided as planned.
  • Direct implementation of approved work methods and procedures that reflect elements essential to rendering high quality care
  • Ensure that the professional standards of nursing practice are maintained by all nurses providing care
  • Participate in the review, analysis, and appraisal of the effectiveness of the total agency program
  • Assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Supervise and teach in order to improve practice within the agency
  • Promote an environment in which the patient care team can work cooperatively toward achieving individual and agency objectives.
  • Provide leadership in promoting and maintaining standards for giving good quality care by all members of the patient care team
  • Encourage and assist personnel to continue self-improvement through formal education, educational meetings, and active participation in professional  and related organizations
  • Assist with the employee health program/safety infection control
  • Assist with risk management and trending incident reports
  • Select and maintain a qualified, well organized staff to provide for the needs of the patients.
  • Oversee the establishment of methods for coordination of care by all disciplines.
  • Direct staff in planning, developing and evaluating the formal orientation and staff development programs provided for all nursing staff
  • Establish staffing patterns which reflect the quality and quantity of various professional personnel necessary to plan, provide, and supervise the rendered to patients and families. Participate in rotating administrative call schedule.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities.
  • Assist with case conference preparation
  • Attend mandatory case conference meetings as directed
  • Assist in acting as a liaison between agency and contracting agencies.

Working Conditions
  • Works with computers on a daily basis
  • Typically the employee will sit for extended periods of time
  • Walking, standing, reaching, bending, and carrying of light to heavy items such as papers, office/medical supplies, books and files on a regular and recurring basis
  • Must be able to communicate articulately
  • Moderate amount of travel is required
